Comprised of 3 panes of (low-e2) glass, sandwiching two further separating pockets of argon insulating gas, this industry improvement vastly outperforms its earlier, double-glazed predecessor; not only in providing a superior thermal insulation barrier to keep you lovely and warm, but by further reducing the possibility of conducting condensation and the transmission of outside noises. The advancements within this product have acredited the manufactures to achieve the lowest U rating performance for a commercial window.

Window Installation - FAQs

Once I have chosen my windows, how long will be untill you install

From customer approval, we normally complete window installations between 4-5 weeks of this date. However, this is only a guide, as many factors can contribute towards your exact installation date. Please contact us to find out more, and to know our current lead time, as this can vary depending on the time of year.

How long will the window installation take

This would depend on the amount of windows you require and will vary depending on individual properties. In most situations, we will complete the installation within one working day.

Do you have a brochure with every single style possible

Unfortunately, we do not, as windows are highly customisable, there are thousands of ways they can be constructed. However, we do have a general brochure, in PDF or print format, which we can send you (email info@randawindows.co.uk to request one). Moreover, we are more than happy to give you detailed info on any further styles and options within our extensive range.

We are having a new bathroom fitted, when would be best to have the window installed

We would always recommend having the window installed first before any tiling, plastering, or decorating. This will give a much nicer finish to the surround of the window.

How do I know if I need to replace my windows

Rotten windows obviously would need replacements. Single-glazed windows, would need replacements, if you are considering making energy savings. Old, aluminium windows and 1st generation PVCu windows may also need replacement if the seals are worn or the sealed units have broken down.

Will fitting new windows add value to my home

Yes, but more importantly, it should make it more energy efficient.

Which are better, wooden windows or PVC-u windows

PVC-u windows tend to be more energy efficient, furthermore, require much less maintenance.

Will I need to redecorate after my windows are fitted

No, our installers are very careful when they carry out the work, moreover, we fit an internal trim around the window to provide a neat and sealed finish. If the customer does not want the any trim fitting, sometimes a minor retouch may be necessary to cork or colour key an edge in (we will cork in any internal sealing if necessary).

Should double/triple glazed windows get condensation

Yes, condensation is a natural process within a house, and is a bigger problem, within households containing more occupants. Reducing condensation can be achieved by better insulating your house, minimising your use of water internally and venting better.

Do replacement windows really pay for themselves

In the long term yes, as they save on your need to heat your property.

Are your windows better than constructor/contractor windows

We offer the most energy efficient windows possible at an affordable cost.

FYI: On many new builds developments, a lower quality window and installation application may have been used by any particular builder to keep their cost down, so fitting new, A+ Rated windows by a high-end installer can make a significant difference!
  A+-Rated energy window rating

Do I need to replace all of my windows at the same time

No, you are more than welcome to break this up into stages, if it helps with budgets or projected work etc.

Do you erect scaffolding or use ladders when installing windows

Ladders are required especially when working upstairs, however scaffolding will only be erected if absolutely necessary.
